Welcome to the Health in the Spirit blog

A first note from Dr. Ryan and Annie DeNome on what we are building, why it matters, and what to expect from this space.

By Dr. Ryan & Annie DeNome

This is a sample post that lives in the new Decap-powered blog. It exists so the post template has something to render before launch — once you publish your first real post via /admin, this one becomes invisible the moment you delete its file or check the “draft” box.

Why a blog?

Podcasts are wonderful, but conversations move quickly. The blog is where we slow down — to put a teaching from an episode in writing, to share a recipe from St. Hildegard’s herbal traditions, or to walk a parent through why one ingredient matters more than another.

If a podcast episode is the conversation you’d have with a friend over coffee, this blog is the email you send a few days later when you’ve thought about it more carefully.

What you’ll find here

  • Saint reflections — the writings of Cosmas & Damian, Hildegard, and Augustine, applied to ordinary modern questions about how to eat, move, sleep, and rest.
  • Practical theology of the body — what the Catechism actually teaches about caring for the body God gave you.
  • Health in plain English — because functional medicine should not require a glossary.

What you’ll never find here

  • Sponsored content disguised as a recommendation.
  • Prosperity-gospel “wellness as virtue signaling” posturing.
  • Predictions about your health we cannot honestly back up.

The motto stays

Care for your body like you are going to live forever — and care for your soul like you are going to die tomorrow.

That is what this blog is for.

Ryan & Annie
